How to Log In

• ELN User Interface (ELN UI): Main interface for managing your data
• Admin Interface (Admin UI): Interface for set up of meta data structure (only for Instance Admins can edit here)

Login instructions for ELN UI (analog for Admin UI)

Open the webpage of your instance and follow these steps:

• Click on Login (left on the picture below)
• You will be forwarded to a page, where you need to choose Empa (view picture below)
• On the next page you need to enter your edu-ID credentials. If you do not have an edu-ID, please follow these instructions:
  • Create a SWITCH edu-ID (if you do not already have one) at SWITCH edu-ID Registration.
  • Link your Empa identity at Switch edu-ID - Add an organisational identity.
  • Important: openBIS access requires an active Empa email connection via your edu-ID. Consequently, access is terminated once you leave Empa.
• You will stay logged in as long as the browser window with openBIS stays open

Information for Instance Admins

The login for an Instance Admin is the same as for an User, but as Admin you will have more rights and you will see all folders etc. For more information check our Tips for Instance Admins
